Heading For The Next Phrase Of Life

Today is BB Annual Awards Ceremony. At the ceremony, I, together with Benedict, Wei Kian, Jin Jie and Kee Tee received our Founder's Badge. It was indeed a very tiring day but thank GOD, everything went smoothly.

We reached Singapore Poly (SP) at around 0920, preparing for the inspection and a final rehearsal. Because of a last minute drop out of some cadets, our responsibilities for the ceremony also changed. Benedict and I ended up in the Guard-Of-Honour Contingent (GOH) while the other three went to do 'sai kang' or what Mr Alex Wong say, 'important task'. At first, I was worried that the procedure for the GOH contingent will be very long but thank GOD, it was just doing some stationary drills and then march off.

We had our lunch and was waiting for further instructions. We gathered at the convention centre, ready to receive our badge. Thankfully, my brigade company is only 13, so I was one of the first 50 founder's man to receive the badge. When the badge was put onto my arm, there was this great sense of acheivement. I am proud to be a founder's man.

In the GOH contingent, we waited for the arrival of the Guest-Of-Honour, Mr Gan Kim Yong, Minister of State, Minister of Education and Minister of Manpower. The sun was very bright in the beginning and I saw that a few Founder's man around might soon fall out if the sun continued to shine. Then, it was as though GOD heard me thinking of this, the sun was all of a sudden blocked and there was wind blowing. Through out the whole thing, no one fall out and I really thank GOD for it.

We re-enter the convention centre to attend the ceremony for schools award. My school was awards the JM Fraser GOLD Award and I was really glad that the Boys' Brigade in my school has strive hard to maintain its standard and of course, the advancement of CHRIST's Kingdom. It was too bad that our principle was not able to attend the awards ceremony to receive the award.

While waiting to go home from SP, Mr Tan received news of the bus picking us up broke down and the other bus will come only 20 minutes after we already waited for 30 mintues. But I believed, this was GOD's Will. During this period of time, the seniors interacted with the younger cadets and from it, I believed the bonds between us was strengthen and we were able to communicate better.

Now I have to prepare for the next milestone: 'O' Level.
